Mini Books

One of my favorite crafts of 2023-2024 was making my own book nook! I fell in love with the idea of a tiny scene that you can put on your shelf in between books, but being a crafty person, naturally, I had to make my own. With some craft wood, paint, hot glue, and a few pieces of dollhouse furniture it all came together. And I can honestly say it brings me joy every time I look at it.

Now, this isn’t actually a post about building a book nook, because everyone will have unique style and taste with what they want. But you can’t have a book nook without books! I made a video tutorial that you can find on my Instagram about making your own mini books starting with how to make the digital file, but so many of you have told me that is the part that intimidates you or takes too much time.

I get it and I have good news! I made a free PDF with tons of popular book covers & spines so that all you have to do is print the covers on matte photo paper, and then the crafting can begin!

Here is the mini book PDF:

Once you print and cut out your mini books, I recommend folding them using a straight edge such as a spare piece of craft wood. After that, cut 2mm white craft foam sheets to the size you need and hot glue it inside the book cover. For thicker books, it may take 2-3 layers of foam.

Mini books don’t just have to be used for a book nook. They’re also super cute as a TBR (to be read) jar, Christmas ornaments, or I’ve even seen some people turn them into jewelry.

Let me know if you have any questions, and what books I should add to the list next. Happy crafting!
